Life Sci­ences at Guide­house
Our global Life Sci­ences con­sult­ing team works with a wide range of mul­tina­tional bio­phar­ma­ceut­ical com­pan­ies as well as emer­ging biotech and med­ical device com­pan­ies. We help our cli­ents max­im­ize the value of their products and the effect­ive­ness of their organ­iz­a­tions by provid­ing com­mer­cial strategy and oper­a­tions ser­vices from early com­mer­cial­iz­a­tion into launch through loss of exclus­iv­ity. Role Descrip­tion and Respons­ib­il­it­ies

The Asso­ci­ate role is a three-month pro­gramme. Con­tin­gent upon excel­lent per­form­ance and busi­ness needs, Asso­ci­ates will be presen­ted the oppor­tun­ity to join the team as a full-time Con­sult­ant or Senior Con­sult­ant based on prior exper­i­ence and edu­ca­tion fol­low­ing the three-month pro­gram.
This is a highly chal­len­ging pos­i­tion that draws heav­ily upon ana­lyt­ical, cre­at­ive, and inter­per­sonal skills. As integ­ral mem­bers of pro­ject teams, sup­port­ing the plan­ning and exe­cu­tion of live pro­jects, Asso­ci­ates are provided the oppor­tun­ity to put their stamp on impact­ful and mean­ing­ful work work­ing with col­leagues in offices across the UK, EU, US, and India. As our cli­ents are senior stake­hold­ers in mostly large, com­plex com­pan­ies, Asso­ci­ates will be coached to demon­strate busi­ness pro­fes­sion­al­ism and asked to grasp new con­cepts quickly, to per­form effect­ively in the cli­ent envir­on­ment.
Interns are an import­ant com­pon­ent of the Guide­house con­sult­ing team. Our Life Sci­ences Asso­ci­ates are respons­ible for con­trib­ut­ing to pro­ject work­streams and mod­ules of large com­plex pro­jects and devel­op­ing cli­ent deliv­er­ables. As respons­ib­il­it­ies grow and cap­ab­il­it­ies are demon­strated, Guide­house is com­mit­ted to sup­port­ing Interns in their pro­gres­sion to Con­sult­ant and Senior Con­sult­ant and bey­ond.

Respons­ib­il­it­ies Include

  • Par­ti­cip­ate as a key mem­ber of global Life Sci­ences pro­jects on behalf of a broad set of cli­ents
  • Ana­lyze sci­entific, clin­ical, fin­an­cial, and stra­tegic inform­a­tion to dis­cern the busi­ness implic­a­tions of innov­at­ive tech­no­lo­gies and emer­ging trends
  • Par­ti­cip­ate in the devel­op­ment of stra­tegic insights for cli­ents and help shape product and port­fo­lio devel­op­ment decisions
  • Sup­port the col­lec­tion of inform­a­tion to inter­pret, and syn­thes­ize data, and extract mean­ing­ful insights from var­ied struc­tured and unstruc­tured sources
  • Plan and sup­port inter­views with med­ical experts and key opin­ion lead­ers, cap­tur­ing inform­a­tion in a suc­cinct and cohes­ive format
  • Syn­thes­ize quant­it­at­ive and qual­it­at­ive research find­ings, devel­op­ing robust ana­lyses with action­able stra­tegic recom­mend­a­tions for cli­ents
  • Pre­pare and par­ti­cip­ate in cli­ent present­a­tions and cli­ent work­shops
  • Par­ti­cip­ate in Life Sci­ences prac­tice devel­op­ment activ­it­ies and firm-wide devel­op­ment ini­ti­at­ives
  • Sup­port Life Sci­ences busi­ness devel­op­ment efforts includ­ing pro­posal devel­op­ment and cli­ent rela­tion­ships

Required Skills and Qual­i­fic­a­tions
  • Interest in the life sci­ences industry through edu­ca­tion or prior intern­ship exper­i­ences
  • Strong writ­ten and oral com­mu­nic­a­tion skills, with a demon­strated abil­ity to com­mu­nic­ate com­plex busi­ness issues suc­cinctly and with impact
  • Demon­strated abil­ity to think crit­ic­ally, with a strong eye for detail, and a cre­at­ive approach to prob­lem solv­ing
  • Demon­strated abil­ity to work effect­ively with diverse teams and col­lab­or­ate with col­leagues at all levels of the organ­isa­tion
  • Demon­strated pro­ject man­age­ment and organ­isa­tional skills
  • Demon­strated abil­ity to work with speed and accur­acy
  • Know­ledge of MS Office pro­grams (Excel and Power­Point), includ­ing present­a­tion and fin­an­cial mod­el­ling
  • Must be able to demon­strate writ­ten and oral com­mu­nic­a­tion and present­a­tion skills in Eng­lish
  • Cur­rently enrolled in a uni­versity
  • Flu­ency in major lan­guages (French, Ger­man, Span­ish, Italian, Por­tuguese, Rus­sian, Japan­ese, Man­darin, Korean, Arabic) is an advant­age but not required
  • Demon­strated busi­ness matur­ity to per­form effect­ively and add value to pro­ject teams

Travel is required for the role based on cli­ent demand. The suc­cess­ful can­did­ate will report to an Asso­ci­ate Dir­ector within our EME (Europe and the Middle East) offices who will sup­port the can­did­ates over­all pro­fes­sional growth and devel­op­ment.
