Fraunhofer-Institut für Organische Elektronik, Elektronenstrahl- und Plasmatechnik FEP
The Fraunhofer Institute for Organic Electronics, Electron Beam and Plasma Technology FEP works on innovative solutions in the fields of vacuum deposition and surface treatment as well as the combination of organic electronics with classical silicon circuit technology. Fraunhofer FEP thus offers a broad spectrum of research, development and pilot production opportunities.
Our interdisciplinary department „Microdisplays and Sensors“ deals with the development and fabrication of microdisplays and sensors based on the integration of organic light emitting diodes (OLED) or organic sensors on CMOS substrates. Our field of activity ranges from the first idea, to the conception in close interaction with the OLED technology, the circuit design, the OLED integration, the test, the electronic packaging to the development of the complete system and the application. In doing so, we move in the area of tension between different subjects such as electrical engineering/electronics, microelectronics, microsystems technology, information technology, computer science as well as physics, optics and manufacturing technology.
