Research Associate / Postdoc (m/f/x)

The Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Institute of Communication Technology, the Junior Professorship in Quantum Communication offers a project position as

Research Associate / Postdoc (m/f/x)
(subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

starting as soon as possible. The position is initially limited until June 30, 2025. The period of employment is governed by § 2 (2) Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG).

Working field:

We seek applications for a Postdoc position in Quantum Technologies applied to 6G communications. The design of architecture and interfaces of network and link layer with the quantum hardware infrastructure will be part of the work. The focus will be on quantum resources for efficient sensing and low latency in future 6G communication networks. The work will consist of a theoretical design and experimental tests and measurements in order to provide a more complete and accurate characterization of the system. The results of the work will be important for applications of Quantum Technologies in the context of distributed sensing and human-machine interaction.

Requirements:

university and PhD degree in electrical or electronic engineering, telecommunications engineering, physics, or equivalent. The candidate should have prior research experience in one of the following areas: experimental quantum optics, ultrafast optics, nanophotonics or spectroscopy of 2D materials. Ideally, one of the following experiences will be preferred: experience in optics, lasers, and building optical spectroscopy platforms. Experience in 2D material heterostructure assembly, laser-material interactions, ultrafast pump probe spectroscopy and solid-state single photon sources. Candidates should be proficient in English and have good oral and written communication skills.
