Student Assistant Position CDR project (m/f/d)

26-2025 SHK CDR project

Working field:

The candidate will be working in the State of CDR project, an international collabo-ration that aims to establish a reliable, independent and scientific assessment of the field of carbon dioxide removal. The candidate will provide scientific support to anal-ysis in the areas of national climate policies and media research. Important back-ground material include chapters 5, 6 and 9 of the State of Carbon Dioxide Removal Edition 2.

The candidate will join the Evidence for Climate Solutions group, which offers a unique environment of subject experts, evidence synthesis methodology experts and data scientists, all working to advance climate solutions.

Requirements:

Key responsibilities:

  • Track CDR policy plans and implementation across different national con-texts, including the Nationally Determined Contributions submitted by parties to the Paris Agreement, building a database to evaluate global CDR policy progress.
  • Assist in the coding and classification of media articles by CDR technology type and other characteristics.

You are a Bachelor or Master student, enrolled at a German university, and ide-ally meet the following requirements:

  • a background in economics, public policy, political science, environmental science, or a related field of the social sciences
  • interested in data collection, analysis, and research, preferably in a climate-related field such as carbon dioxide removal, environmental science, or cli-mate policy
  • excellent communication, presentation and writing skills in English are re-quired, and proficiency in other languages is an asset.
