Student Research Assistant for the Project “Divorce and Diagnosis”

Working field:

The successful candidate will work for the research project Divorce and Diagnosis(DiDi). This project particularly focusses on studying how divorce-related health outcomes affect employment transitions, how divorce impacts different health outcomes (morbidities and mortality), how these patterns are moderated by age, gender, and past family behavior. For this, it integrates and applies novel and rich German register data on rehabilitations, employment biographies, divorce and pensions. The project is connected to the Einstein Center Population Diversity (https://einstein-diversity.com/).

Your tasks:
Support for the DFG-funded research project “Divorce and Diagnosis” (in collaboration with researchers from Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, the Federal Institute for Population Research (BiB) and the Einstein Center Population Diversity (ECPD))
Assistance with cleaning, preparation, and compiling of administrative register data.
Support in organizing project workshops.
Contribution to project reports, data manual and publications.

Requirements:

Strong programming skills in Stata or R. (Applicants with experience only in R should demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and apply Stata in project work.)
Interest in social science research, particularly at the intersection of public health and family demography/sociology.
Solid background in statistics and quantitative analysis.
German language skills are an asset but not required.
Currently enrolled at a university in Berlin in sociology, social sciences, statistics, epidemiology, economics, public health or related
