The RAVEN group studies how changes in early foundational memory abilities and translate to children’s real-world memory capacities from age 4 to age 10. By connecting lab findings to real-world memories, we hope to better understand how children build lasting memories that shape their sense of identity and structure their knowledge of the world.

Student Research Assistant - Memory Development in Children (RAVEN Project)

(40 – 80 Hrs. / Month)

Working field:

The research project RAVEN at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development, Berlin is looking for a student research assistant (f/m/d) (40 – 80 Hrs. / Month) to support a longitudinal study on memory development in children aged 4 – 10. In our study, we use behavioral and neuroimaging methods to investigate how children develop memory abilities across childhood.

Requirements:

  • Highly motivated, reliable and responsible students of psychology (all semesters) or a related subject with very good English and native-level German skills
  • Enjoy working with children
  • Interest in developmental psychology/cognitive neuroscience
  • Good knowledge of programming languages (R, MATLAB, Python) or willingness to develop them
  • Experience in data collection for psychological studies is helpful, but not required
  • Perspective interest in working on the project for at least 1 year
