The Chair of Air Transport Technology and Logistics of the Institute of Logistics and Aviation together with the Chair of Econometrics and Statistics, esp. in the Transport Sector of the Institute of Transport and Economics offers a position starting as soon as possible. The position entails 50 % of the fulltime weekly hours. The position is limited for 3 years. The period of employment is governed by Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz WissZeitVG). The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification (e.g. PhD).
Within the framework of the three-year DFG project "Optimierte Continuous Descent Operations unter unsicheren Umwelt- und Missionsbedingungen" we aim at investigating whether an energy-optimized Second Best Solution for the single flight event can achieve a significantly improved efficiency in comparison to the global optimum over all possible approaches.
simulation-based and theoretical evaluation and investigation of the variables influencing the flight profile; adaptation of the stochastic-robust optimisation methods to the modeling of the flight profiles based on the series of input variables; online prediction of the flight profile via considered stochastic/statistical models; robustness check of the results.
superior university degree in stochastics or statistics with relevant recess in robust nonlinear optimisation; competence in scientific computing advanced programming knowledge (R, MatLab and/or C/C++/C#).
