Tech­ni­sche Uni­ver­si­tät Dres­den - Faculty of Che­mis­try and Food Che­mis­try, Chair of Inor­ga­nic Mole­cu­lar Che­mis­try

The TU Dres­den is one of ele­ven Ger­man uni­ver­si­ties that were iden­ti­fied as an “excel­lence uni­ver­sity”. TUD has about 36.500 stu­dents and almost 5319 employees, 507 pro­fes­sors among them, and, thus, is the lar­gest uni­ver­sity in Sax­ony, today.

Having been com­mit­ted to sci­en­ces and the engi­nee­ring before the reuni­fi­ca­tion of Ger­many, TU Dres­den now is a multi-disci­pline uni­ver­sity, also offe­ring huma­nities and social sci­en­ces as well as medi­cine.

Rese­arch Asso­ciate / PhD Stu­dent

The Chair of Inor­ga­nic Mole­cu­lar Che­mis­try offers, star­ting at the next pos­si­ble date, a posi­tion
in a DFG fun­ded pro­ject „Fun­da­men­tal Rese­arch on Green and Effi­ci­ency Reco­very and Rege­ne­ra­tion of Lithium Iron Phos­phate Cathode Mate­ri­als“. The posi­tion ent­ails 50 % of the full­time weekly hours and is limi­ted to 31.05.2021. The period of employ­ment is gover­ned by Fixed Term rese­arch Con­tracts Act (Wis­sen­schafts­zeit­ver­trags­ge­setz Wiss­ZeitVG). The posi­tion offers the chance to obtain fur­ther aca­de­mic qua­li­fi­ca­tion (e.g. PhD).

Work­ing field:

Inde­pen­dent work on rese­arch towards the inves­ti­ga­tion of recep­tors for a bin­ding and extrac­tion of ani­ons and metal salts; che­mi­cal cha­rac­te­riza­t­i­ons of the obtai­ned pro­ducts; per­for­mance of liquid-liquid extrac­tion and strip­ping stu­dies; ope­ra­tion and opti­miza­t­ion of a mixer-sett­ler mini-plant; per­for­mance of tra­cer expe­ri­ments; pre­pa­ra­tion of pro­cess spe­ci­fi­ca­ti­ons for the exe­cuted topics.

Require­ments:

uni­ver­sity degree (Mas­ter or equi­va­lent) in che­mis­try; an inte­gra­tive and coope­ra­tive per­so­na­lity with high team­work abili­ties, self-moti­va­tion skills and orga­niza­t­io­nal talent; inte­rest in app­li­ca­tion-ori­en­ted che­mi­cal rese­arch; deep know­ledge in inor­ga­nic-indus­trial che­mis­try and coor­di­na­tion che­mis­try, pre­fe­r­a­bly know­ledge of liquid-liquid extrac­tion pro­ces­ses; wil­ling­ness for several months rese­arch stay at the pro­ject part­ner insti­tute out­s­ide Europe; PC, Micro­soft Office and che­mi­cal soft­ware hand­ling know­ledge.
