The TU Dres­den is one of ele­ven Ger­man uni­ver­si­ties that were iden­ti­fied as an “excel­lence uni­ver­sity”. TUD has about 36.500 stu­dents and almost 5319 employees, 507 pro­fes­sors among them, and, thus, is the lar­gest uni­ver­sity in Sax­ony, today.

Having been com­mit­ted to sci­en­ces and the engi­nee­ring before the reuni­fi­ca­tion of Ger­many, TU Dres­den now is a multi-disci­pline uni­ver­sity, also offe­ring huma­nities and social sci­en­ces as well as medi­cine.

The posi­tion is star­ting as soon as pos­si­ble. The posi­tion ent­ails 50 % of the full­time wee­kly hours. The posi­tion is limi­ted until 31.08.2022. The period of employ­ment is gover­ned by Fixed Term Rese­arch Con­tracts Act (Wis­sen­schafts­zeit­ver­trags­ge­setz-WissZeitVG). The posi­tion offers the chance to obtain fur­ther aca­de­mic qua­li­fi­ca­tion.

Work­ing field:

The suc­cess­ful can­di­date will inves­ti­gate the syn­the­sis of novel nano­po­rous mate­ri­als for app­li­ca­ti­ons in gas and energy sto­rage, espe­ci­ally the syn­the­sis of novel sti­muli-respon­sive metal-orga­nic frame­works (MOFs). Ana­ly­sis of the influ­ence of the struc­ture on the adsorp­tion beha­vior in case of dif­fe­rent tem­pe­ra­tures and gases; Manu­fac­tu­ring com­plex orga­nic lin­ker com­pounds with che­mi­cal func­tio­n­a­li­ties; MOF-Syn­the­sis and inter­pre­ta­tion of expe­ri­men­tal data of adsorp­tion and dif­frac­tion mea­su­rements.


very good uni­ver­sity degree (M. Sc. or equi­va­lent) in che­mi­stry; know­ledge of inor­ga­nic syn­the­sis and adsorp­tion; basic know­ledge in the field of mate­ri­als rese­arch, espe­ci­ally know­ledge in the field of metal-orga­nic frame­works (MOFs). The capa­bi­lity of team­work, in par­ti­cu­lar with expe­ri­men­tal part­ners, is essen­tial. High self-moti­va­tion, good PC skills and a good com­mand of writ­ten and spo­ken Eng­lish com­plete your pro­file.
