Charité - Neurowissenschaftliches Forschungszentrum

We are an interdisciplinary lab at the Neuroscience Research Center

HiWi position: Computer vision / Animal behavior / Neuroscience

Working field:

  • Computer vision / deep learning location tracking of freely moving fish
  • Develop, optimize and apply new tracking strategies in Tensorflow
  • Analyze behavioral patterns
  • Use artificial neural networks to help us understand real neural networks in the brain

  • Interest in animal behavior and/or the brain
  • Programming experience with Python & Tensorflow/Keras
  • Currently enrolled as a university student (BSc or MSc)

What we offer:

Our lab is establishing a miniature fish species as a new model organism for neuroscience. Despite having the smallest known vertebrate brain, it displays fascinating behavior (including acoustic communication). Join our group of biologists, physicists, neuroscientists and engineers in studying brain circuits underlying vertebrate communication. We are based on the Charité Mitte campus near Berlin Hauptbahnhof.

We offer a HiWi contract for 60-80h/month and flexible working hours. Note that HiWi contracts can only be given to students.
