Work­ing field:

The Depart­ment of Eco­logy is loc­ated on the main cam­pus in Cottbus and offers a very inter­na­tional and diverse research envir­on­ment ( Research focuses on the effects of anthro­po­genic use (land use and cli­mate change) on biod­iversity, biotic inter­ac­tions and eco­sys­tem pro­cesses in nat­ural and agri­cul­tural ter­restrial eco­sys­tems.

  • Sci­entific work within the research focus of the depart­ment, espe­cially the col­lab­or­a­tion in the pre­par­a­tion and imple­ment­a­tion of pro­jects fun­ded by third parties, here in the pro­ject: "Eco­sys­tem func­tions in sub-Medi­ter­ranean regions: The func­tional bar­rier between Medi­ter­ranean and Euro-Siberian forest com­munit­ies". The research focuses on assembly pat­terns of the plant com­munity from the func­tional fea­tures approach.
  • Lec­ture and pub­lic­a­tion activ­it­ies on the research sub­ject, pre­par­a­tion of con­tri­bu­tions for reports and present­a­tions


Your pro­file
  • Com­pleted sci­entific uni­versity stud­ies in the sense of the fee sched­ule for TV-L (accred­ited mas­ter's degree / uni­versity dip­loma / equi­val­ent) in a sub­ject rel­ev­ant to the sub­ject area (bio­logy, eco­logy or com­par­able)
  • very good know­ledge of Eng­lish
  • Soft­ware know­ledge (R, GIS)

This pro­ject offers an excel­lent oppor­tun­ity for any young sci­ent­ist* with a strong interest in plant sci­ences and eco­logy to do a PhD within an inter­na­tional research team.
