As an Android Work­ing Stu­dent at Blinkist, you join one of our mis­sions, the Recom­mend­a­tions Mis­sion – a team of 5 Soft­ware Engin­eers help­ing users find rel­ev­ant and valu­able con­tent at the right time and inspire them. Thus, you work in a cross-func­tional team where iOS, Android, and Backend Engin­eers, Design­ers, QA, and a Product Owner col­lab­or­ate with the help of an Agile Coach."

What You'll Do

  • Join the Android team and ener­gise an engin­eer­ing role in our Recom­mend­a­tions Mis­sion.
  • With a focus on fea­ture devel­op­ment, take own­er­ship in sup­port­ing the devel­op­ment of new fea­tures as well as main­tain­ing the exist­ing code­base
  • Work and com­mu­nic­ate in our col­lab­or­at­ive envir­on­ment. Give and receive feed­back to build trust, trans­par­ency, and elev­ate your peers.

Why You?

You’re an inde­pend­ent thinker and team player with some exper­i­ence in mobile devel­op­ment, look­ing to extend that exper­i­ence in a busi­ness set­ting with real-life applic­a­tions.

  • Cur­rently enrolled at a local uni­versity (in Ber­lin / Branden­burg) and want to gain some work­ing exper­i­ence in a lead­ing inter­na­tional tech com­pany.
  • Excel­lent com­mu­nic­a­tion skills in Eng­lish.
  • Exper­i­ence with devel­op­ing Android apps – you have cre­ated Android pro­jects or have con­trib­uted to exist­ing Android pro­jects before, although we don’t expect pro­fes­sional work exper­i­ence!

Great to Haves

  • Curi­os­ity to learn new tech­no­lo­gies on the go.
  • Interest to work in an explor­at­ory set­ting, where plans may quickly change as new inform­a­tion becomes avail­able.
