Research assistant - salary grade E 13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen

Working field:

Research in the project "Conformance Checking with Regulations". In this we want to research whether business processes follow established rules and regulations with the help of new conformance checking techniques. The aim is to identify the deviations between the two and to visualize them for end users in order to improve business processes or regulations. In this DFG project, we will work closely together with our research partners at the Junior Professorship for Management Analytics at the University of Mannheim.

The Software and Business Engineering department researches new solutions and approaches in the following areas:
  • Software technology and software architecture
  • Business engineering
  • Business process management and process mining
  • Blockchain, especially in the area of application of this technology
  • Cloud Computing, DevOps, and Reliability

Requirements:

  • Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent), in computer science or similar fields (e.g., computer science, information systems engineering/management, or related areas); preferably with very good marks
  • Interest in scientific qualification (Ph.D.)
  • Interest in Business Process Management, Process Mining, Visualization and Development of new software systems
  • In-depth studies or other experiences in at least two of the following areas: (1) Software Engineering for Information Systems, (2) Data Science, (3) Business Process Management or (4) Process Mining
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Very good written and oral language skills in English and German, at least at the levels C1 (English) and B2 (German)
  • Very good programming skills in at least on programming language, preferably Python, Java or R
