Science of Intelligence is Berlin-based research network of six partner organisations (Technische Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Freie Universität Berlin. Universitat Potsdam, Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin and Max Planck Institute for Human Development), founded in 2019 and funded by the German Research Foundation as part of Germany' Excellence Initiative. Together:, international scientists in interdisciplinary research, teams investigate the principles shared by all forms of intelligence in order to ethically and responsibly apply them to the creation of intelligent technologies.
To further strengthen our interdisciplinary team, we are looking for an academic coordinator to start as soon as possible.

Working field:

  • Coordination, documentation and evaluation of the interdisciplinary doctoral program of SCIol Implementation of structures and procedures as Well as cooperation with partner institutions in the areas of graduate education and internationalization
  • Developing and organizing events and training courses for PhD & Postdocs, e. g. lectures, seminars, symposia, workshops, training schools, retreats and conferences
  • Building an alumni network that will serve as mentors and speakers for a variety of events
  • Supervising the international guest program
  • Management and further development of the training program including the writing of project proposals, surveys and reports
  • Public outreach (website, social media, science communication)
  • Budget responsibility for the allocated budget
  • Preparation and attendance of board meetings as well as other committees
  • Evaluations; evaluation and preparation of final reports and surveys

Requirements:

  • Successfully completed scientific university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in a discipline relevant to SCIol, doctoral degree desired
  • Professional experience in project management or research management, ideally work experience in coordination of university programs or Graduate Schools
  • Proven experience in event organization
  • Knowledge of the university research landscape in Berlin
  • Knowledge of funding for PhD & Postdocs
  • Fluent in German and English, written and spoken, further languages desirable
  • Very good command of MS-Office
  • basic financial competence
  • a high level of mediation competence, negotiating skills and a good intercultural understanding
  • Independent and structured way of working

We offer:
  • Salary from € 49,000 to € 60,000 depending on professional training and the extent of professional experience
  • initially limited until 31.12.2025, extension possible
  • 30 days of vacation, plus 24.12. and 31.12. as non-working days
