The TU Dres­den is one of ele­ven Ger­man uni­ver­si­ties that were iden­ti­fied as an “excel­lence uni­ver­sity”. TUD has about 36.500 stu­dents and almost 5319 employees, 507 pro­fes­sors among them, and, thus, is the lar­gest uni­ver­sity in Sax­ony, today.

Having been com­mit­ted to sci­en­ces and the engi­nee­ring before the reuni­fi­ca­tion of Ger­many, TU Dres­den now is a multi-disci­pline uni­ver­sity, also offe­ring huma­nities and social sci­en­ces as well as medi­cine.

Rese­arch Asso­ciate / Post­doc (m/f/x)

The pro­ject posi­tion is star­ting as soon as pos­si­ble. The posi­tion is limi­ted until March 31, 2025. The period of employ­ment is gover­ned by § 2 (2) Fixed Term Rese­arch Con­tracts Act (Wis­sen­schafts­zeit­ver­trags­ge­setz - WissZeitVG).

Working field:

The Insti­tu­tes rese­arch and tea­ching activi­ties include elec­tro­nic design auto­ma­tion through the deve­lop­ment of algo­rithms, methods and soft­ware tools. The focus of your work will be the deve­lop­ment of methods and data for­mats for the design of dis­tri­bu­ted manu­fac­tu­red sys­tems (split manu­fac­tu­ring) as part of a rese­arch pro­ject. The main tasks to be sol­ved in a team are: Rea­li­za­tion of a modu­lar design flow for such sys­tems by con­fi­gu­ra­tion and com­bi­na­tion of exis­ting and new design tools; pro­to­ty­pi­cal deve­lop­ment of spe­ci­fic design tools and data for­mats as parts of this flow; Pre­pa­ra­tion of a con­cept for a multi-pro­cess design kit (MPDK) and asso­cia­ted design rules.

Requirements:

  • very good to good uni­ver­sity and, if app­li­ca­ble, PhD degree in elec­tri­cal engi­nee­ring, com­pu­ter sci­ence or a com­pa­ra­ble disci­pline
  • in-depth know­ledge of microelec­tro­nic sys­tem design
  • pro­gramming skills
  • good pro­fi­ci­ency in writ­ten and spo­ken Eng­lish
  • high degree of inde­pen­dence and per­so­nal respon­si­bi­lity
  • struc­tu­red and team-ori­en­ted way of working.
