The Department of Pediatric Respiratory Medicine, Immunology and Critical Care Medicine (Director Prof. Marcus A. Mall) is a maximum care center for children and adolescents with acute and chronic diseases of the respiratory tract, immunological disorders and critical illness. The department includes one of the largest Cystic Fibrosis Centers in Europe where clinicians and scientists work together with the aim to better understand the disease mechanisms underlying cystic fibrosis and other rare genetic lung diseases and to use this knowledge to improve prevention, diagnostics and therapy. In light of emerging molecular therapies targeting the underlying cause of disease, we seek to establish an Independent Junior Research Group in the field of Precision Medicine of Cystic Fibrosis and invite applications for the position commencing as soon as possible.
