Leib­niz-Zen­trum All­ge­meine Sprach­wis­sen­schaft (ZAS)

The Leib­niz-Zen­trum Allge­meine Sprac­h­wis­senschaft (ZAS) is a non-uni­versity research insti­tute of the fed­eral state of Ber­lin. At the ZAS, the human fac­ulty of lan­guage and its expres­sion in indi­vidual lan­guages is explored, with the aim to bet­ter under­stand this cent­ral human abil­ity and its bio­lo­gical, cog­nit­ive and social factors.

Stu­dent assist­ant for FB4/pro­ject CrossConn

The Leib­niz-Centre Gen­eral Lin­guist­ics (ZAS) is look­ing for a stu­dent assist­ant to under­take tasks in the semantics/prag­mat­ics research group (FB IV), within the CrossConn group (40 hours per month; 12,50/h) start­ing on or after 01.09.2022.
A min­imum dur­a­tion of half a year is desired, with the pos­sib­il­ity of exten­sion up to one year.

Working field:

  • Help con­struct and dis­trib­ute ques­tion­naires per­tain­ing to lin­guistic phe­nom­ena.
  • Help con­struct and con­duct exper­i­mental stud­ies, most likely exclus­ively online.
  • Data entry.
  • Help organ­ize pro­ject events.

Requirements:

Your pro­file
  • Essen­tial fields of study: semantics, prag­mat­ics.
  • Flu­ent speaker of Ger­man and good work­ing know­ledge of Eng­lish.
  • Some pro­gram­ming exper­i­ence (e.g. R, Ibex­Farm) is wel­comed.
  • Exper­i­ence design­ing exper­i­ments is wel­comed.

Formal require­ments
  • enrolled as a stu­dent at a Ger­man uni­versity or at a for­eign uni­versity with H+ status (search­able in the data­base ana­bin.kmk.org)
  • Mas­ter's degree not com­pleted
