The Department of European Ethnology of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the Centre for Transdisciplinary Gender Studies of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Science invites applications for a Full Professorship for ‘European Ethnology and Gender Studies’ (W2) from 1 April 2024, as an early successor appointment funded by the Women`s Promotion Programme.

Full Professorship for ‘European Ethnology and Gender Studies’ (W2)

Working field:

The professorship serves the teaching and research in the transdisciplinary degree programme Gender Studies as well as the profiling and strengthening of gender studies at the Institute of European Ethnology.

The holder of the position should represent the following areas in research and teaching:
  • Gender Studies: especially interdependent gender and queer theoretical approaches in the context of ethnographic research; transdisciplinarity.
  • European Ethnology: especially ethnographic research in the intersection of gender studies / European Ethnology.
  • A gender_queer theory-oriented research profile that complements the research fields at lfEE is expected (e.g. political, legal, economic or digital anthropology). lt is expected that the leadership of the Centre for Transdisciplinary Gender Studies (ZtG) at HU Berlin will be taken over on a rotational basis

Requirements:

The applicants must meet the legal requirements for professorial appointments in accordance with § 100 of the `Berliner Hochschulgesetz`.
