Tech­ni­sche Infor­ma­ti­ons­bi­blio­thek (TIB) - Pro­gram Area B, User and Inform­a­tion Ser­vices

TIB, being part of the Leib­niz Research Asso­ci­ation, is with around 550 employ­ees one of the largest tech­nical inform­a­tion centres in Ger­many, hav­ing three main func­tions:
1. Act­ing in the capa­city of the Leib­niz Inform­a­tion Centre for Sci­ence and Tech­no­logy, our for­ward-look­ing ser­vices secure the infra­struc­tural require­ments for provid­ing research­ers in sci­ence and industry with high-qual­ity inform­a­tion and lit­er­at­ure.
2. Car­ry­ing out cut­ting edge research to fur­ther expand TIB’s role as a Ger­man inform­a­tion centre for the digit­isa­tion of sci­ence and tech­no­logy
3. Offer lib­rary ser­vices for the Leib­niz Uni­versity Han­nover.

As the Ger­man National Lib­rary of Sci­ence and Tech­no­logy our future-ori­ented ser­vices ensure the infra­struc­tural require­ments for a high-qual­ity sup­ply of inform­a­tion and lit­er­at­ure for research in sci­ence and industry. Our ser­vices as a uni­versity lib­rary secure the local sup­ply for the Leib­niz Uni­versity Han­nover.

Con­sult­ant in the area of Research Data Man­age­ment (m/f/d)

Work­ing field:

Within TIB, research data rep­res­ent a cross-sec­tional topic of high rel­ev­ance. In addi­tion to many other tasks in this con­text, TIB par­ti­cip­ates in the Research Data Ser­vice Team at Leib­niz Uni­versity Han­nover (LUH), where we advise research­ers on all ques­tions relat­ing to research data man­age­ment. TIB con­tinu­ously cooper­ates with Research and Innov­a­tion Ser­vices of the Uni­versity on a cross-insti­tu­tional basis.

Your tasks
  • Par­ti­cip­a­tion in the lib­rary's ser­vice for research data man­age­ment
  • Con­tinu­ous par­ti­cip­a­tion in the research data man­age­ment ser­vice of Leib­niz Uni­versity Han­nover
  • Con­sult­ing and train­ing of sci­ent­ists on the hand­ling of research data and open data pub­lic­a­tion
  • Advice on gen­eral con­di­tions for data pub­lic­a­tion
  • Con­cep­tion of train­ing courses (pres­ence and digital) and teach­ing and inform­a­tion mater­i­als
  • Assist­ance in devel­op­ing data man­age­ment plans and deal­ing with require­ments and reg­u­la­tions for research data man­age­ment (e. g. by third-party fund­ing agen­cies)
  • Con­cep­tion and imple­ment­a­tion of the cur­a­tion of metadata in the research data repos­it­ory of Leib­niz Uni­versity Han­nover

Require­ments:

  • Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter or com­par­able), prefer­ably in the field of inform­a­tion sci­ence or lib­rary sci­ence
  • Com­pre­hens­ive know­ledge and exper­i­ence in the entire field of research data man­age­ment
  • Strong com­mu­nic­a­tion and cooper­a­tion skills
  • Abil­it­ies to work inde­pend­ently and goal-ori­ented
  • Very good Eng­lish skills

Desir­able
  • Know­ledge of research data repos­it­or­ies and their require­ments
  • Know­ledge of the legal frame­work for data pub­lic­a­tion

to work in the field of pub­lic­a­tion at the next pos­sible date. The pos­i­tion is lim­ited to three years. The reg­u­lar weekly work­ing time is 19.90 hours (part-time). The remu­ner­a­tion is based on pay scale group 13 TV-L.
