star­ting as soon as pos­si­ble. The posi­tion com­pri­ses 75 % of the full-time wee­kly hours and it is limi­ted for 3 years. The posi­tion offers the chance to obtain fur­ther aca­de­mic qua­li­fi­ca­tion (e. g. PhD).

Working field:

The suc­cess­ful can­di­date is requi­red to con­duct rese­arch on the DFG-fun­ded pro­ject “Lévy-dri­ven Orn­stein-Uhlen­beck pro­ces­ses in infi­nite dimen­si­ons”. The posi­tion is wit­hin the inter­na­tio­nal col­la­bo­ra­tion trans­Cam­pus ( bet­ween Tech­ni­sche Uni­ver­si­tät Dres­den and King’s Col­lege Lon­don. Working wit­hin this frame­work pro­vi­des the can­di­date with an inter­na­tio­nal trai­ning and a tan­dem super­vi­sion by Pro­fes­sor Anita Behme (TU Dres­den) and Pro­fes­sor Mar­kus Riedle (King’s Col­lege Lon­don) that will fos­ter inter­na­tio­nally com­pe­ti­tive rese­arch.

A stay of 15 mon­ths at King's Col­lege Lon­don is plan­ned as part of the con­tract period (can be divi­ded into 2 to 3 peri­ods if necessary). The can­di­date will pro­fit from estab­li­shing con­tacts and gai­ning insights into struc­tures and pro­ces­ses at both loca­ti­ons, while impro­ving their lan­guage skills.

This rese­arch pro­ject aims at a bet­ter under­stan­ding of dyna­mi­cal sys­tems dri­ven by cylind­ri­cal Lévy pro­ces­ses. The key aspect lies in estab­li­shing qua­li­ta­tive pro­per­ties of the solu­tion, such as regu­la­rity of tra­jec­to­ries, strong Fel­ler pro­perty, sta­tio­na­rity, ergo­di­city, etc., some of which being clo­sely rela­ted to ana­ly­ti­cal pro­per­ties of the asso­cia­ted tran­si­tion semigroup. It is expec­ted that the results will enable the model­ling and under­stan­ding of a wider range of app­li­ca­ti­ons which require a ran­dom per­tur­ba­tion by a highly irre­gu­lar noise.
