The TU Dres­den is one of ele­ven Ger­man uni­ver­si­ties that were iden­ti­fied as an “excel­lence uni­ver­sity”. TUD has about 36.500 stu­dents and almost 5319 employees, 507 pro­fes­sors among them, and, thus, is the lar­gest uni­ver­sity in Sax­ony, today.

Having been com­mit­ted to sci­en­ces and the engi­nee­ring before the reuni­fi­ca­tion of Ger­many, TU Dres­den now is a multi-disci­pline uni­ver­sity, also offe­ring huma­nities and social sci­en­ces as well as medi­cine.

An der TU Dresden, Fac­ulty of Psy­cho­logy, Insti­tute of Edu­ca­tional and Devel­op­mental Psy­cho­logy, the Chair of Lifespan Devel­op­mental Neur­os­cience offers a pos­i­tion as

Research Asso­ci­ate /PhD stu­dent /Postdoc (m/f/x)
(sub­ject to per­sonal qual­i­fic­a­tion employ­ees are remu­ner­ated accord­ing to salary group E 13 TV-L)

start­ing as soon as pos­sible. The pos­i­tion com­prises 75 % of the full-time weekly hours for a PhD stu­dent and 100 % of the full-time weekly hours for a Postdoc. The pos­i­tion is ini­tially lim­ited for 3 years with the option of exten­sion. The period of employ­ment is gov­erned by the Fixed Term Research Con­tracts Act (Wis­senschaft­szeitver­trags­ge­setz - Wis­sZeitVG). The pos­i­tion aims at obtain­ing fur­ther aca­demic qual­i­fic­a­tion (e.g. PhD/habil­it­a­tion thesis).

Working field:

Con­duct sci­entific research and teach­ing; develop own research ideas in the area of neuro­cog­nit­ive devel­op­ment, neuro­cog­nit­ive aging, or their inter­faces with per­cep­tion and digital tech­no­lo­gies; pub­lish sci­entific art­icles; acquire research fund­ing; develop and teach courses at the bach­elor and mas­ter’s level in the area of lifespan devel­op­mental neur­os­cience.

Requirements:

Uni­versity degree (Dip­loma/Mas­ter) for PhD stu­dents or uni­versity and PhD degree for Postdocs in Psy­cho­logy, Neur­os­cience or related fields; interests in mech­an­isms of devel­op­mental or aging pro­cesses; pub­lic­a­tions in inter­na­tional journ­als; excel­lent lan­guage skills in Eng­lish; exper­i­ences with cog­nit­ive neur­os­cience meth­ods (EEG, fNRIs, MRT) and human-machine inter­ac­tion tech­no­lo­gies would be advant­age­ous.
