Im Her­zen der Lau­sitz ver­bin­det die BTU her­aus­ra­gende inter­na­tio­nale For­schung mit zukunfts­ori­en­tier­ter Lehre. Sie leis­tet mit Wis­sens-, Tech­no­lo­gie­trans­fer und Wei­ter­bil­dung einen wich­ti­gen Bei­trag für Gesell­schaft, Kul­tur und Wirt­schaft. Als Tech­ni­sche Uni­ver­si­tät bie­tet die BTU ein bun­des­weit ein­zig­ar­ti­ges Lehr­kon­zept: Bei uns kön­nen Stu­di­en­gänge uni­ver­si­tär, fach­hoch­schu­lisch und dual stu­diert wer­den.

Pro­fess­or­ship Auto­mot­ive Engin­eer­ing and
Power­trains (W3)

com­men­cing at the earli­est oppor­tun­ity.

Working field:

We are look­ing for a sci­en­tific­ally out­stand­ing per­son­al­ity, who rep­res­ents the field in research and teach­ing. The Depart­ment of Auto­mot­ive Engin­eer­ing and Power­trains is the main con­trib­utor of the spe­cial­isa­tion Trans­port­a­tion Engin­eer­ing within the Mech­an­ical Engin­eer­ing bach­elor's pro­gramme and of the spe­cial­isa­tion Auto­mot­ive and Power­train Engin­eer­ing within the Mech­an­ical Engin­eer­ing mas­ter's pro­gramme at the BTU Cottbus-Sen­ften­berg.

The future pos­i­tion holder is expec­ted to have:
  • in-depth know­ledge of vehicle devel­op­ment and vehicle dynam­ics, power­train and envir­on­mental impacts,
  • exper­i­ence in man­age­ment activ­it­ies and budget respons­ib­il­ity, and excel­lent national and inter­na­tional net­works in the auto­mot­ive and sup­plier industry as well in the research com­munity.

The future pos­i­tion holder should as well:
  • fur­ther develop the depart­ment in the main areas of energy man­age­ment of the entire vehicle as well as con­ven­tional and altern­at­ive drive sys­tems (elec­tric, hydro­gen-based, regen­er­at­ive energy sources),
  • develop the top­ics of vehicle con­cepts and human-machine inter­faces as well as other future-ori­ented top­ics,
  • sig­ni­fic­antly expand sim­u­la­tions meth­ods in the above-men­tioned top­ics and take up top­ics such as digital pro­to­type, digital twin, etc,
  • be pre­pared for inter­dis­cip­lin­ary cooper­a­tion, espe­cially with the insti­tutes and fac­ulties of the BTU, and integ­rate the depart­ment into the uni­versity and non-uni­versity research centres for hybrid elec­tric drives that are cur­rently being estab­lished.

Other duties res­ult from the require­ments set by § 42 Branden­bur­gisches Hoch­schul­ge­setz (Higher Edu­ca­tion Act of the State of Branden­burg - BbgHG) in con­junc­tion with § 3 BbgHG.

Requirements:

The incum­bent will have access to excep­tion­ally good exper­i­mental equip­ment, which will con­tinue to be the basis for the inter­dis­cip­lin­ary research work of the depart­ment. Exper­i­ence in acquir­ing third-party fund­ing and con­duct­ing applic­a­tion-ori­ented research with indus­trial com­pan­ies as well as in basic research is required. The research top­ics in basic research should be rel­ev­ant for the DFG or com­par­able inter­na­tional research fund­ing insti­tu­tions.
The will­ing­ness to offer teach­ing in other courses of the fac­ulty or other fac­ulties is required.
Lec­tures are primar­ily to be held in Ger­man, flu­ency in Eng­lish is expec­ted.
