Intern - Data Sci­ence and Arti­fi­cial Intel­li­gence (AI) (Energy Tran­si­tion) (f/m/d)

Help to advance the adop­tion of AI and machine lear­ning across the Elia Group! Con­tri­bute to the digi­ta­li­za­tion of the energy tran­si­tion.

Working field:

  • Buil­ding and eva­lua­ting machine lear­ning models for a wide array of energy use cases, with help from data sci­en­tists of the AI Cen­ter of Excel­lence,
  • Sup­por­ting the deve­lop­ment of an in-house time series fore­cas­ter,
  • Data clea­ning and pre­pa­ra­tion of machine lear­ning data­sets,
  • Explo­ra­tory Data Ana­ly­sis (EDA) of new data­sets to find insights,
  • Pre­pa­ra­tion of reports and pre­sen­ta­ti­ons in order to help exp­lai­ning the out­co­mes of ana­ly­sis and data sci­ence tasks to other busi­ness sta­ke­hol­ders,
  • Sup­port in other AI Cen­ter of Excel­lence tasks, such as machine lear­ning/data sci­ence trai­nings, web­site con­tent deve­lop­ment, and admi­nis­tra­tive sup­port.

Requirements:

We expect that You ...

  • Are a stu­dent of data sci­ence, engi­nee­ring, com­pu­ter sci­ence, mathe­ma­tics, sta­tis­tics, phy­sics, or ano­t­her rela­ted field, ide­ally at the begin­ning of your Mas­ter's pro­gramme or advan­ced Bache­lor's stu­dies,
  • Have initial coding expe­ri­ence with Python,
  • Have first expe­ri­ence in trai­ning and eva­lua­ting time series machine lear­ning models,
  • Pos­ses a good under­stan­ding of sta­tis­ti­cal con­cepts as well as gene­ral data sci­ence work­flows and pro­ces­ses,
  • Are able to com­mu­ni­cate in an inter­na­tio­nal envi­ron­ment and to address senior manage­ment ade­qua­tely,
  • Are highly moti­va­ted, crea­tive, inde­pen­dent in working and a team player,
  • Have a high ana­ly­ti­cal abi­lity com­bi­ned with a sys­te­ma­tic working approach, as well as a high level of self-orga­ni­sa­tion and relia­bi­lity,
  • Are flu­ent in Eng­lish (C1). Addi­tio­nal lan­guages such as Ger­man, French or Dutch are a plus.
  • Are a skil­led user of Micro­soft Office app­li­ca­ti­ons (esp. Excel and Power­Point).
