K.I.E.Z. – the Artificial Intelligence Entrepreneurship Center - is an initiative to support the founding of science-based startups in the field of Artificial Intelligence. We believe in the power of startups to drive economic growth and create positive change in the world. The range of services is geared to the specific needs of AI startups and covers the entire innovation chain: from the identification of startup potential in AI research to targeted support in the incubation phase and an AI Accelerator Program. 

This is a unique opportunity to work closely with AI startups that are shaping the future, supported by Berlin's leading universities. As Project Assistant you will be a vital part of ensuring smooth processes and future success of our portfolio companies as well as K.I.E.Z. itself. .

Project Assistant (full-time)

Fixed-term contract until March 31, 2026

Working field:

Procurement Support K.I.E.Z. and startups: Manage procurement processes, including communication with K.I.E.Z. and startups teams, sourcing, evaluating suppliers, and handling purchase orders to ensure efficient and compliant resource allocation.

Public Fund Management: Assist in the administration of public funds, including the preparation of financial and status reports and compliance with funding guidelines.

Financial Administration: Assist in the preparation of financial statements and manage budget tracking. Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and fund management.

Project Support: Work closely with the Director and the team to coordinate, prepare, and follow up on appointments and meetings.

Office Management: Ensure smooth office operations by managing office supplies, equipment, and facilities. Implement and maintain efficient administrative systems and processes, including onboarding, licenses and similar.

Requirements:

A completed vocational training plus specialist training (e.g. IHK Kaufmann/-frau) or a comparable university degree.

Full professional proficiency in both English and German is required.

Proven experience in handling procurement processes end-to-end and financial accounting, experience with public funding is a strong plus.

Experience in project administration, ideally with knowledge of public funding processes.

Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Ability to work independently, with attention to detail and a structured approach.

Team player with flexibility and adaptability.

Excitement for AI and startups is a big plus.
