Working field:

ScienceOpen is a freely accessible network for aggregating, sharing, and evaluating research information with 100 million Open Access articles and records. An innovative company located in Berlin and Boston, ScienceOpen strives to develop new solutions for scholarly publishing.
We are currently seeking a motivated student to join our team as Student Assistant for Communication and Outreach to support our sales, marketing and outreach activities. We are a small but dynamic team located in Prenzlauer Berg. You would be responsible for

  • Promotion of ScienceOpen content on LinkedIn, X, Bluesky, Facebook, Instagram and other social media channels
  • Support in developing and implementing social media marketing campaigns
  • Writing and publishing blog posts on general topics in scholarly publishing, as well as promoting customer content and new features on the platform
  • Working with customers on marketing strategies
  • Preparing and distributing press releases
  • Outreach to researchers and support in developing article Collections
  • Back office research and statistics
  • Website testing

Requirements:

You should have an interest in scientific communication, good organizational and writing skills and a high level of English fluency. Any experience in the fields of media and communication, publishing, library science or marketing would be valuable. Experience with social media channels such as X, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. preferred. We are looking for student support for 20 hours/week with a compensation of 15 €/hour. Because of the complexity of the subject and the resulting training time, we require at least a 6-month commitment.
