Research Associate / Postdoc (m/f/x)

At the Faculty of Physics, Institute of Solid State and Materials Physics, the Chair of Low Temperature Physics of Complex Electron Systems offers a position as

Research Associate / Postdoc (m/f/x)
(subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

starting as soon as possible. The position is limited to three years. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification (usually habilitation thesis).

Working field:

  • scientific research activity within the ERC project: “Ixtreme: Exotic quantum states by locally-broken inversion symmetry in extreme conditions”
  • development of new measurement methods and experimental investigations of transport and thermodynamic quantities on quantum materials with novel properties at very low temperatures down to 20 mK and in high hydrostatic or uniaxial pressures and high magnetic fields
  • close cooperation with the research group
  • project-related co-supervision of theses at Bachelor, Master and PhD level.
  • publication of results in international journals and at international conferences

Requirements:

  • university degree in the field of physics
  • PhD in solid-state physics
  • extensive technical knowledge of experiments at very low temperatures
  • ability to work in a team, good communication skills, openness and independence
