The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, invites applications for a Junior Professorship with tenure track to W3 for “Education and Language and Communication Impairments” starting as soon as possible.
This position is a tenure-track position. No later than 15 months before the end of the tenure- track professorship, an evaluation procedure is initiated with the aim of determining whether the performance requirements for a lifetime appointment have been met. Tenure-track professors at HU Berlin are expected to perform in the areas of research, academic teaching, participation in academic self-government, support of early-career researchers and the acquisition of personnel management skills. The specific performance requirements are determined in the course of the appointment procedure and are based on the framework catalogue.
After completion of the tenure track procedure, the professorship should represent the subject in research and teaching in its entire breadth, taking into account all Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes at the Institute.
The applicant should be profiled in research and teaching in the field of pedagogy for language and communication impairments in at least two of the following specialisations:
The profile of rehabilitation sciences at Humboldt-Universität includes a particularly complex structure across disciplinary and subject boundaries (education, sociology, psychology, linguistics, etc.) and research approaches. Regardless of specialisations, the ability to cooperate across thematic, paradigmatic and methodological boundaries is expected.
A willingness to engage in international research cooperation and to work in the interdisciplinary Centre of Excellence for Rehabilitation Sciences (KoRa) is desirable.
The applicants must meet the legal requirements for professorial appointments in conjunction with § 102c combined with § 102a of the ‘Berliner Hochschulgesetz’.
