Research Associate (PostDoc) - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen - 2. Qualification phase (for habilitation)

Part-time employment may be possible

Your responsibility:

  • Research and teaching at the Institute of Mathematics, in particular in the field of Algorithmic Algebra - Teaching duties include exercise classes (4 semester hours for a full time position) and seminars in mathematical and related fields
  • Support in writing externally funded projects

Your profile:

  • Successfully completed academic university degree (diploma, master's or equivalent) and doctorate in mathematics
  • Solid knowledge in algebra
  • Knowledge of algebraic geometry and geometric invariant theory is desirable
  • The future focus of research should be on quantitative and algorithmic questions of those areas, as motivated by complexity theory and applications
  • Teaching experience at university level in supervising exercises or seminars
  • The ability to teach in German and/or English is required; willingness to acquire any missing language skills
