Research assistant - 1st qualification period (PhD candidate)

Part time employment may be possible

Your responsibilities:

The Group of Information Integration and Data Preparation (D2IP) conducts basic and applied research in data integration, data pre-processing and data science. We are currently seeking research assistants (PhD students) in one or more of the following topics:
(1) Researching scalable agentic methods for generating data preprocessing workflows. (2) Researching technologies and systems for cleaning massive dataset repositories. (3) Researching systems and technologies for understanding data preparation and extraction pipelines
The position serves your own scientific qualification (doctorate) and includes teaching. This entails organizing and conducting courses, possibly tutorials and internships as well as the supervision of student work. You will also support study counseling and assist in conducting and organizing exams.
Teaching duties are performed.

Your profile:

Applicants must have an outstanding university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in Computer Science or related field of study with a focus on data management, data integration, or scalable data analysis. They should have solid theoretical and practical knowledge in computer science. Ideally, applicants have in-depth knowledge of database technologies, as well as additional knowledge in machine learning, neural networks, and RAG technologies.
The ability to teach in German and/or in English is required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills.
Initial experience in research and in preparing publications is advantageous.
Experience in teaching and didactic competence are advantageous.
