Student Research Assistant – Communications (m/f/d)

(Position number: 26-2026 SHK COMMS)
The position is funded for up to 12 months, with the possibility of extension, and for 10 to 15 hours per week. The remuneration is determined according to the guide-lines of the TdL. The hourly rate for student assistants with a bachelor's degree is set to be 15,20 € under the collective bargaining agreement (without a Bachelor's degree 13,98 €).

Aufgabenbeschreibung:

We are looking for someone to provide research and communications support to the secretariat for the What Works Climate Solutions (WWCS) Summit and additional WWCS events, as well as outreach for the broader WWCS initiative. This involves developing a sound understanding of the climate policy evaluation landscape across academic and political actors, actively contributing to the creation of commu-nication materials, aiding in the strategic development of the scientific program, and facilitating the seamless coordination of various related tasks.
Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct desk research, compile and summarise scientific evidence, and support the preparation of presentations, briefing and related materials
  • assist in the development of the scientific programme, including the prioritiza-tion of themes and methods, session planning, speaker identification
  • support the abstract evaluation process for the Summit, including communi-cation with the applicants
  • conduct literature screening and analytical work to support the curation of an evidence bank
  • support the preparation and dissemination of outreach materials for the broader WWCS initiative (website, social media, email distribution lists etc.)

Erwartete Qualifikationen:

You are a Bachelor or Master student, enrolled at a German university, and ide-ally meet the following requirements:

  • studies in the field of economics, social or political science, environmental science, geography, communications, journalism, international
    relations, development studies or a related field
  • very strong reading, writing and oral skills in English
  • good understanding of climate policy landscape and a willingness to learn
  • experience in scientific and/or social media communication is desirable
  • experience in curating visual presentation and communication materials is an advantage.
